Here are just a couple of pics I took today... He's 15 days old now.
(I updated a couple of them today! 7-2-08)

Well, it's been a long and yet quickly passing couple of weeks. The baby is now two weeks old today. He's still just as precious and sweet. He's a very good baby. He still hardly ever cries. He's very alert and watches everyone and follows certain people around when he hears their voices. He's just beautiful.

I've been told by no less than 6 people that he resembles me a great deal. (Huh? OK.)

I've taken him for a couple of doctor visits. Nothing is going on with him, just normal things to make sure he's growing well. He started out at 5 lbs, 13.3 oz, and is now 6 lbs, and 6 oz. He was 19.25 inches, now he's 19.5 inches. He's growing well. And I just took him for his final "extended newborn testing" the other day. He looks as if he has blondish color hair and deep blue eyes.

He spent two days and nights with us this past week. He was perfect. No whining and crying. Only woke me up once in the night and it was easy to deal with. Though I didn't get much sleep at all while he was here, it was SO wonderful having him here! I finally understand that phrase where you "can look at him for hours" and just be happy looking at him. You can't tell I like him just a little bit, can you?! :D

If you've been keeping up with the other page I set up for him, you've seen his growth the last couple of weeks. If not, here's more pictures taken the last day or two. A coworker and friend of mine brought me a picture frame. This is one of my current favorite pics. He's less than 6 hours old and he's sucking his thumb.

That's my hand behind his head in the last pic. No, he doesn't look like Spock!! :D

His name is Evan James. They FINALLY agreed on a name after much going back and forth. (James is after his great grandfather.) We'll call him EJ or Jamie or Jimmy.

Click HERE for the link to his temporary blog. I'm still pretty tired, so I haven't created a beautiful blog yet.... We brought him home from the hospital today, and on top of an almost full workday, I spent several hours over there helping them. Son mystifies me. I'm so proud of him. He's making quite the wonderful father. It makes me tear up thinking about it. He truly loves his son and does everything for him that he can. He's so attentive and sweet and patient with him. He does his parents proud...

*sniff

Anyway, it's mostly pics (and the birth story on the other blog, but one of these days I'll have the energy to create him a blog worthy of that little angel.), but it's a way to keep up with him for now...

He's here!

I'm exhausted... I've been at the hospital ALL day and it's been very emotional on many fronts. I'll finish the birth story tomorrow or so.

Here he is, though. Here's my grandson...

They're still figuring out a name. You wouldn't believe he's only about 30 minutes old in this first pic, would you? His daddy was taking the pics, and his eyes followed him everywhere.

He was born by emergency c-section at 6:32 p.m. on June 14, 2008

He weighed 5 lbs. 13.3 oz., and was 19.25 inches long.

Here he is with his mom and dad just moments after he was welcomed into the world.

The proud, exhausted papa and grammy....

Grandma and baby....

Isn't he just the most precious thing you've ever seen?
Her water broke at 12:45 a.m., Saturday, June 14. She called the hospital and they said to walk around for an hour to see if her labor would start on it's own.

I'll try to keep you updated as we go along....

**Edit - At 1:00 a.m., she went to the hospital. Hubby followed (I was asleep. They said she wasn't in labor, it was for safety's sake.) Hubby came home at 3:00 a.m. Still no labor.

After a night of broken and unsettled sleep, I called son at 10:10 a.m. Labor had begun. We ate breakfast quickly and are now on our way to the hospital with a stop on the way for food for son.

More later...

Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker . . . . And on Friday? . . . . STILL waiting for baby. . . .

**She will be induced on Monday at 5:30 a.m. if she doesn't go into labor by then.**

Nope, still no baby.

But I thought this was absolutely hilarious!! This even looks just like the cat we used to have. His name was Charlie, and he'd "box" things or chase things on television!! He used to love that old show Press Your Luck!! He'd chase the "Whammies"! Remember that one...?
