For all you curious peoples out there, I have named the little dude!!

Hubby let me name him, though he helped me search for a name.

He said, "He's your lizard, so you have to name him."

Cool.

So, without further ado, let me introduce you to....

Zibelthiurdos!

(I'm not exactly sure how to say it, so I pronounce it -zib el thur dos)

(I don't like "normal" names. Could ya tell?!!) :P

Umm... That's Zibby for short! ;)

Please remember the real reason for Memorial Day. As the wife of a military man earlier in life (when we first got married), and seeing my son's friends join the military now, seeing the struggles they fight for and through, especially as they lose their friends and brothers and sisters. It's about appreciating those who have already died to guarantee the freedoms that so many of us take for granted. We need to understand the importance of appreciating our military men and women.

Memorial Day isn't just another holiday for meeting with our families and having an extra day off from work. It's about supporting our troops and military personnel who risk their lives everyday. It matters not what politics you believe in or who you might vote for in the next election, you must have respect for those who choose to serve our country and have died in that pursuit.

On this Memorial Day 2007, I wish you love and peace.

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope that all the mothers, grandmothers, and mother stand-ins, stepmothers, mother figures, or anyone who cares about anyone else as your own child, had an absolutely WONDERFUL Mother's Day!

Hubby and I went out for the day. We had a nice time shopping and just spending time out together. I received a ring (marcasite and silver unicorn, and perfume). My most favorite gift was this little guy (or girl!)....

Isn't he (she) beautiful?!! ;P

I'm just over the moon with joy!

This is a Savannah Monitor. He's a hatchling. He was born sometime around my birthday! He's only abour 5"-6" long. ...for now! At full growth, he'll be around 3'-5' long!! (That's FEET!) I'm really glad to have another big lizard. And if you get them as hatchlings, they totally imprint on you and are very sweet and wouldn't hurt you for anything. I've been wanting another big lizard since my last one died just over two years ago.

This one doesn't have a name yet. (If you'd like to see him up close, just click on the pic.) We are considering Socrates since the last three were called Archemidis, Coppernicus, and Ptolomy. (They are incredibly intelligent for reptiles.) But we haven't decided for sure yet. We're going to watch him for a few days and see what name comes to mind. ...depending on his personality. I would gladly consider all ideas if anyone can think of anything else....! (Hint, hint!) ;)

Anyway, I certainly hope everyone else had a good weekend!!

Oh, and thanks to Deirdre for her sweet text message yesterday! It meant a lot!

Happy Birthday to me...

I don't have time for a full entry right now, but I just wanted to share this pic with you.

I was totally planning on going to Scarborough Faire Rennaissance Festival by myself (since hubby doesn't like it anyway). I don't mind going by myself. I have gone solo a couple of times. My mom suggested (since he'd stopped by where I work on Thursday), that I try to reach RJ and see if he would like go with me -- since he loves it as much as I do.

I sent him a message via his myspace page (since that's the only way to reach him) asking him to call about possibly doing something the next day, and he called me a little later. He said he'd love to go!

I'll post more pics throughout the week, but we had a great time! What a nice way to spend my birthday!

Umm..... Yeah.

Son came past where I worked today. Totally shocked me. He came by to see me.

He misses me.

Wow...

We spent 30-45 minutes just talking (thankfully her name didn't come up).

I've invited him to lunch tomorrow. Don't know if he'll get the message in time.

We'll see. But at least it's something.
