Thank you!

I'd like to thank ALL of you you sent well wishes, cards, and prayers to my hubby while he was ill. He still isn't completely well, but the doctors thought it would take a couple of weeks before he'd have any energy or feel well at all.

I am very happy to report that he's surprised us all! He has made me breakfast this week, cooked dinner, gone shopping, played in a end-of-the-month poker tournament and helped cook dinner again tonight! (He's even doing housework again!! :D) I'm trying to make sure he doesn't overdue it, but his power of recovery is such a surprise!!

I know it was all my friends praying and sending good thoughts! Thank you!!

Late Night...

I find myself with a couple of extra minutes before I retire tonight. Well, not really. I should be asleep, but I'm still trying to unwind and decompress from the last few days.

I know I haven't posted in awhile. Hubby has been in the hospital the last few days. Hopefully he will get to come home tomorrow. If not tomorrow, Monday at the latest.

Thankfully, he has made strides in the last few days since they finally got the medicine concoction just right for what he needed, and he has been slowly healing.

I know that some of you have been praying for him. I'd like to thank you all in this message and let you know I can't even begin to convey how much I've (we've) appreciated that. I have a great bunch of blog friends!!! Inspired, Penny, and Tina, just to name a few. You guys are great! I am extremely grateful for all your support. Your positive words have helped me try to stay positive. Thank you!!

Until next time....

You know you're living in the year 2006 when...

(Okay, so I saw this a couple of years ago and changed the date! ;) )

Your reason for not staying in touch with family is because they do not have e-mail addresses.

You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.

You call your son's beeper to let him know it's time to eat. He e-mails you back from his bedroom, "What's for dinner?"

Your daughter sells Girl Scout Cookies via her web site.

You chat several times a day with a stranger from South Africa, but you haven't spoken with your next door neighbor yet this year.

You check the ingredients on a can of chicken noodle soup to see if it contains Echinacea.

Your grandmother asks you to send her a JPEG file of your newborn so she can create a screen saver.

You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home.

Every commercial on television has a web site address at the bottom of the screen.

You buy a computer and 6 months later it is out of date and now sells for half the price you paid.

Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go get it.

Using real money, instead of credit or debit, to make a purchase would be a hassle & takes planning.

Cleaning up the dining room means getting the fast food bags out of the back seat of your car.

You just tried to enter your password on the microwave.

You consider second day air delivery painfully slow.

Your dining room table is now your flat filing cabinet.

Your idea of being organized is multiple colored Post-it notes.

You hear most of your jokes via e-mail instead of in person.

You get an extra phone line so you can get phone calls. (Not so much for those of us with better than dial-up.)

You get up in morning and go on-line before getting your coffee.

Things my mother taught me...

(OK, my mom wasn't this bad, but I couldn't resist the funnies...!!!)

THINGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME

My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE:
If you're going to kill each other, do it outside; I just finished cleaning!
---
My mother taught me RELIGION:
You better pray that will come out of the carpet.
---
My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL:
If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!
---
My mother taught me LOGIC:
Because I said so, that's why.
---
My mother taught me FORESIGHT:
Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident.
---
My Mother taught me TO MEET A CHALLENGE:
What were you thinking? Answer me when I talk to you...Don't talk back to me!
---
My mother taught me IRONY:
Keep crying and I'll give you something to cry about.
---
My mother taught me how to solve PHYSICS PROBLEMS:
If I yelled because I saw a meteor coming toward you; would you listen then?
---
My mother taught me the science of OSMOSIS:
Shut your mouth and eat your supper!
---
My mother taught me about CONTORTIONIST:
Will you just look at the dirt on the back of your neck!
---
My mother taught me about STAMINA:
You'll sit there until all that spinach is finished.
---
My mother taught me about WEATHER:
It looks as a tornado swept through your room.
---
My mother taught me THE CIRCLE OF LIFE:
I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.
---
My mother taught me about ANTICIPATION:
Just wait until we get home.
---
My mother taught me about RECEIVING:
You're going to get it when you get home!
---
My mother taught me MEDICAL SCIENCE:
If you don't stop crossing your eyes, they are going to freeze that way.
---
My mother taught me ESP:
Put your sweater on; don't you think I know when you're cold?
---
My mother taught me HUMOR:
When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me.
---
My mother taught me HOW TO BECOME AN ADULT:
If you don't eat your vegetables, you'll never grow up.
---
My mother taught me about my ROOTS:
Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?
---
My mother taught me WISDOM:
When you get to be my age, you'll understand.
---
And my favorite:

My mother taught me about JUSTICE:
One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you!
